Determined to make up for lost time, I extended my stay, exploring the captivating landscapes of Montenegro and Greece, and immersing myself in the vibrant culture of Niš and Belgrade.
The Flight Conundrum
The return flight presented an intriguing dilemma. As an aviation enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for new carriers and experiences. Initially, Air Serbia offered an attractive option with a direct flight from Skopje to Paris for €110. However, the allure of trying a new airline and the prospect of a longer vacation led me to delay my decision.
The challenge was finding a balance between cost, convenience, and the desire to explore new airlines. I considered various options, including self-transfer connections with Wizz Air and Ryanair, but the risk of delays due to the global jet fuel crisis was a significant concern. The idea of being stranded in Italy with last-minute ticket purchases was not appealing.

From a Parisian perspective, Orly is undoubtedly more convenient than Beauvais, with its remote location and infrastructure challenges. However, Belgrade Airport truly shines, offering a world-class experience that rivals my favorite airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle.
The allure of Belgrade as a travel gateway is undeniable. Its ambition to become the primary aviation hub in the Western Balkans is well-founded. I would gladly choose Belgrade as my entry point to the region, even if it meant additional travel to reach my final destination.
